A never-ending grade..

2nd of Batxillerat is ending. From my point of view the worst part of this grade is the missing one, I mean, within... Twelve days we have our final exams, 5 days of stress, nerves, pressure, concentration... But that is how it works. After our exams we will be a bit more relaxed but not completely relaxed because “selectivitat” will be waiting for us.

Some friends of mine say that “selectivitat” seems to be really hard and terrifying but when you do the first exam you realize that it's not as hard as you expected, if you have been studying and being a “good student” during those two long years of Batxillerat you’ll pass those exams, the difficult thing is to get good marks.

Hard things are waiting for us but we have to be positive because is the only way to get what we really want and if everything goes right.. We will be having the best summer in our life. To start with, we are going to Mallorca (the whole grade) and after that… billions of things are waiting for us because if I had to be sincere… we’ve deserve it!

In conclusion, our priority is study hard to reach the top of our mountain or in other words the objective that we have set. In life you have to be strong and get what you really ont. (I love the song that says… You can get it if you really want!).

Today I’m going to talk about music. I’ve chosen this topic because in my opinion, music is a perfect way to express feelings and different points of view about all kind of things that might be important or worrying for our society.

As it is known, music is a cultural product. Its aim is create an aesthetic experience to the listener and express feelings, circumstances, thoughts and new ideas to them.
That’s why every time we listen to a song; this song can remind us other situations when we listened to it or make us feel happy, sad, worried… and even make us cry.

I think that music is really important because without music I wouldn’t live. I need to hear music always, in all situations and places, even if I feel really depressed, I need to hear a certain song that might change my mood and could make me feel much better.
I also think that music ties our life just with a simple song, I’ll use an example to make it easier to understand: When you’re with your friends listening to an specific song, watching a nice sunset in summer… and suddenly this same song is being played 5 years later in the car, then your different situations that you have lived before during your life, get linked just for a single song.

That’s what I meant when I said that for me, music is essential…

Sant Jordi

Hi! In three days we are going back to school, that’s not a good new at all but... today is Saint George’s day and we have to celebrate it!

In Catalonia is a very popular celebration. All boys or men that love a women or a girl give to them a rose, the typical one is a red rose, from my point of view it’s a nice color and it symbolizes the roses that grew up from the blood that came out of the dragon killed by soldier George the 23rd of April. It’s just a legend but it’s an important one for all the Catalan people.

As I was saying, boys give a rose to the girl they love and girls give them a book. I think that is very difficult to find a good book for boy teenagers because most of my friends (boys) hate reading and that’s a pity. Anyway, the tradition says that you have to give them a book, and that’s how it works so… there’s nothing we can do or change. Although a book it’s difficult to find, I really love Saint George day!!

A nice week

I’ve been in Puigcerdà for a few days, that’s why I couldn’t write in my blog, anyway, today it’s a perfect day to write on it.

I am feeling really good because when I go to Puigcerdà I kind of “disconnect” from everything and I think that is very important to get rid of all “responsibilities” or worries for a few days and just enjoy and relax yourself.

On Monday I arrived there with my parents and my two sisters, I stayed at home but I went to have dinner with 5 friends.
The following day I skied, it was the perfect day because the sun was really shinny. When I arrived home another time I was a bit tired but 3 friends of mine where in Puigcerdà and I went at their home to have dinner and after that, we went to a nice bar that is situated in the square of Puigcerdà, it’s called ‘Central’, there we had something for drink and we had a nice chat.
On Wednesday I went with my family to Andorra, I hadn’t been there since 2008! From my point of view it’s not a really nice place but it’s awesome if you want to shop around and buy clothes, it’s cheaper too as you may know.
After a long day in Andorra, at 7 PM I arrived home and after a while my 3 friends came and picked me up and we went another time to their home, we had dinner there, we watched Barça’s football match and then we went another time to ‘our’ bar.

Yesterday evening we packed everything and we returned back home.
Holidays are finishing but… Carnival is waiting for us!!!!

I don’t like people to describe myself. I just think that it’s a waste of time. No one is going to be as honest as you would like them to be just for a simple reason, they want you to be proud of yourself and happy about what they think about you even if there’s something that they don’t like.

A nadie le amarga un dulce”. That’s how I would describe what I mean about descriptions, it’s an awesome Spanish expression impossible to translate perfectly but… I’ll try to explain it to you… just to let you know what I’m referring to.

This expression means that sometimes it’s good to hear people saying qualities and nice things about you because in some ways it makes you feel better with yourself but…
From my point of view, descriptions should be nice but realistic at the same time, I mean… life is not always rainbows and flowers, not always nice, with smiles and all is perfect.
Life is difficult, you have to face the truth and know that life is hard and you must know that nobody is perfect just because then the whole world wouldn’t work, so… you should be aware of what people think about you and try to be better in some aspects, not trying to be perfect (because as I’ve said before, perfection is not a real word in our planet) but trying to be a better person to help the humanity and make a real change.

I would like you to listen to this song.. I really love it:

Travelling… What a nice experience!

Today is 6th of January, a new year has started and new experiences are going to take place during 2011.

Last year, at this same date I was preparing my luggage because the following day I was taking a plane to Rome. I spent there 4 days and it was a really nice trip. I went there with my maternal family because my grandparent was going to be 70 the tenth of that same month. I felt really glad and privileged because we were the whole family in a city as nice as Rome and we could celebrate his birthday, it was really unforgettable.
The weather wasn’t really good, though. It almost rained every day but it wasn’t as cold as it could have been.

I would like to talk a bit about Rome because from my point of view, it’s one of the most special cities that I have ever visited. It is full of fashion and glamour. It’s obvious that the food is delicious and the shops and style are awesome too.
If I had to choose a place from that city I would choose “La Fontana
di Trevi” which is the biggest fountain of Rome and “Piazza di Spagna” because it’s the most beautiful square that I have ever been to.

It’s really cool remembering that trip; it makes me feel happy and a bit sad at the same time for not being there in this moment, anyway, the memories of that trip are going to stay always in my mind.
